If you are looking for things to do in Geraldine, the Geraldine Museum is a great place to start. We are located right in the centre of town on Cox Street, just a short walk from Talbot Street’s cafés, shops, and galleries.

You will find us near the village green and the Geraldine Information Centre. There is plenty of free parking close by, and the museum is easily accessible for all visitors.
If you are travelling from out of town, Geraldine is around 90 minutes south of Christchurch or 35 minutes north of Timaru along State Highway 79. The drive through the South Canterbury countryside is scenic and relaxed, making Geraldine a great stopover or day trip destination.
Inside the museum, you can explore stories, photographs, and displays that bring Geraldine’s early history to life. From pioneering families and early industry to local art and community stories, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Entry is $5 for adults, and children are free, making it an affordable and family-friendly activity during your visit to town.
